These organizations are always searching for ways to bring safety to Arizona’s homeless animals. Please take the time to participate in any way you can. Small things for these groups are big milestones; as their days are long and heartfelt for the many homeless pets in our community.
Arizona Humane Society
Have several shelters in the valley, and are dedicated to improving the lives of animals since 1957.
Healing Hearts
This is a relatively new group, and have added a mobile spay neuter program for rescues around the valley. They work closely with Maricopa County, and have a refuge for all size animals…even farm animals. A must see!
Maricopa County and Animal Control
Two valley shelters; East/West. They always need volunteers and shelter items. They have many pets looking for homes.
PACC911 | Phoenix Animal Care Coalition
They unite the pet rescues throughout the valley. A wonderful resource!
Petfinder
Here you can find just about any kind of pet in which you’re interested; complete with pictures.
This is an awesome way to find the perfect pet while researching from home. |

No matter the size or breed, dog training is important…right from the start we always hear, “Oh, when he/she gets bigger, we’ll work on it.” Alas, they grow quickly, and bad habits grow with them. By the time that your carpet needs cleaning every week, new blinds installed monthly and your shoes are missing like the socks from your washer or dryer…it’s almost too late. Remember, we had training as we grew, and so do your pets. Even if you don’t use a trainer, good manners start at home. Training is bonding and they love it!
